The Abercrombie Precinct Redevelopment project at the University of Sydney has reached a significant milestone with its ‘topping out’.

The project involves a $180m facility for the University of Sydney Business School, which will include over 34,000 square metres of total building gross floor area and a $30m student accommodation facility. It has now reached its highest point.

General Manager of Operations for Infrastructure South East, Rob Monaci, said the teams’ vision of providing staff and students with a world class business school is now clear for all to see with the structure of the development now complete.

“For John Holland, the topping out ceremony is an opportunity to acknowledge the program of work that has been undertaken by the project team to reach this point,” he said.

“The business school is one of the largest and most complex educational infrastructure projects we have had the privilege of being a part of, and both the project team and our subcontractors have worked tirelessly to meet and exceed expectations.”

The occasion was marked with the placement of an Elaeocarpus eumundii tree. Following the ceremony, this tree will be donated to Darlington Public School.
