Our Rail business has won two categories at the prestigious Australasian Rail Industry Awards.
The team has won the award for Innovation and Technology and employee Esther Warren has taken out the Young Rail Engineer award.
Executive General Manager for Transport Services, Karl Mociak, said the Innovation and Technology award has been awarded in recognition of the use of electronic tablets for training.
“This gives our trainers the flexibility to provide training opportunities in the field. Having training materials in electronic format available on their tablet allows them to perform any assessment at any time in the field without having to rely on the paperwork available,” he said.
“Not only has this improved our process, it has also reduced our carbon footprint by reducing the amount of hard copies to less than 70% of previous years for the same amount of training.”
Mr Mociak also congratulated Ms Warren on her win.
“Throughout her eight-year career, Esther has worked on large scale construction projects both in New Zealand, Queensland and Victoria.
“She was most recently part of the successful tender and delivery team for Regional Rail Link; City to Maribyrnong River as the Occupation Planner.”
