John Holland recognised as Authorised Engineering Organisation for rail delivery in NSW

John Holland has achieved the status of an Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO) for delivery of transport projects by the Asset Standards Authority (ASA) of Transport for NSW (TfNSW).

John Holland has achieved the status of an Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO) for delivery of transport projects by the Asset Standards Authority (ASA) of Transport for NSW (TfNSW).

Commencing full operations in July 2013, the ASA is the network design and standards authority for NSW transport assets. Its introduction of the AEO program aims to support industry in delivering and maintaining transport assets with greater efficiency, innovation and safety.

John Holland Executive General Manager for Transport Services, Karl Mociak, said the company’s investment in asset management, rolling stock and systems engineering capability has been recognised following a thorough maturity assessment process conducted by the ASA into its engineering management systems.

“AEO authorisation is a significant achievement for our business that firmly acknowledges our capability in rail, as well as our proficiency in ASA and TfNSW engineering management and safety processes. As well as being able to construct, test and commission across all our specialist rail services, the AEO status also enables us to deliver asset management, rolling stock, systems engineering and assurance services across the entire project lifecycle,” Mr Mociak said.

“With self-performing construction, operation and maintenance service, and specialist capabilities in the full range of track construction, signalling and communications systems, we offer our customers world class turnkey solutions in transport services.”

Asset Standards Authority Director, Jim Modrouvanos, congratulated John Holland on achieving authorisation.

“We look forward to working with John Holland as well as other industry AEOs to improve our engineering processes to make it clearer, simpler and more attractive to do business with Transport for NSW,” he said.

John Holland has worked on numerous rail projects around Australia, which currently include the Regional Rail Link project in Melbourne and the Roy Hill project in remote Western Australia. John Holland is also the Rail Infrastructure Manager accountable for the operation and maintenance of the NSW Country Regional Network.
