Stage 1 will deliver new bridged interchanges at the intersections of Collier Road and Morley Drive, a flyover at Benara Road and an upgraded section of Tonkin Highway north of Guildford Road.
Chief Executive Officer, Glenn Palin, said John Holland has industry leading expertise in highway upgrade projects.
“This project will reduce congestion and support economic development in Perth,” Mr Palin said.
“Tonkin Highway carries more than 70,000 vehicles per day and the upgrade from signalised intersections to freeway style interchanges will result in improved traffic flow. We’re proud to have been nominated as the preferred construction partner to deliver this important infrastructure to the local community.”
Executive General Manager for Infrastructure, Jim Salmon, said he looked forward to finalising the contract negotiations and working with Main Roads.
“We have a long history of working with Main Roads, including the recently completed Great Northern Highway Realignment which improved road safety by separating heavy and light vehicles and improved traffic flow between Port and South Hedland,” Mr Salmon said.
Construction work on Tonkin Highway is scheduled to start around the middle of next year.
