Joe Barr
Chief Executive Officer
Joe has had an outstanding career in the construction industry over the past 30-years, both domestically in Australia and internationally in the Asia Pacific and Middle Eastern regions. He was most recently the CEO of Hansen Yuncken.
He spent several years working in Dubai, where he was responsible for a range of development projects with a portfolio value of approximately US$27bn and annual turnover of around US$4bn.
Joe is passionate about fostering career pathways, and providing opportunities for employees.
Rod Heale
Chief Operating Officer
Rod Heale is an experienced senior executive leader with a strong track record in transformational leadership, strategic business development and building high-performing teams. As our Chief Operating Officer, Rod draws on more than 30 years’ experience at all levels of the construction industry to ensure our ongoing success in the winning and delivery of projects.
He has delivered many large and complex engineering and building projects throughout Australia and Asia, becoming renowned for his ability to work collaboratively with clients to achieve best-for-project outcomes.
Darryn Ray
Chief Financial Officer
Darryn Ray joined John Holland in 1994 after more than seven years with a major chartered accounting firm. He was appointed Chief Financial Officer in 2006.
Darryn is responsible for all financial and management reporting, external and internal audits, taxation, treasury and investments, company secretarial and governance and information and communication technology. Darryn is a Member of the Australian Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Jayne Whitney
Chief Strategy Officer
Jayne Whitney leads the John Holland Strategy Team across business strategy and strategic growth. She also leads the Sustainability Team, embedding sustainability leadership in John Holland and across our markets. She has worked in various executive roles within the construction industry over the past 20-years, and possesses strong credentials in strategy, business development, marketing, sustainability and governance.
An experienced leader, Jayne has a proven track record of driving change and delivering results in the energy, utilities and infrastructure markets.
Jane Sherlock
Chief People Officer
Jane Sherlock is a highly experienced people and business leader, with more than 25 years in the banking and finance, construction/infrastructure, energy, mining, technology and outsourcing sectors in Australia, New Zealand and the Asia-Pacific region.
Jane is no stranger to the complexities of securing and delivering large-scale projects, and has a successful track record leading the people elements of diverse and challenging transformation and cultural change programs.
Jane is passionate about making sure people are at the heart of everything we do. She leads the People Group, driving a high-performance, inclusive culture with a strong focus on our people and their safety.
Tom Roche
Executive General Manager - Development & Investments
As Executive General Manager of Development and Investments, Tom is responsible for securing projects that will deliver both construction and investment opportunities across the infrastructure and real estate sectors and also selective mergers and acquisitions that support our growth agenda.
Tom has an extensive background in the infrastructure, real estate and construction industries and during his 30 year career has successfully led numerous large infrastructure and real estate transactions from origination and project leadership through to transaction structuring. Tom has been involved in significant PPP projects covering a variety of sectors including sporting and entertainment, convention and exhibition, health, transportation and defence, as well as real estate developments including office parks, industrial and mixed esidential/retail/commercial and mergers and acquisitions and corporate advice.
Tom brings significant experience with his skills covering project and corporate finance; debt and equity structuring; project and asset backed bond issues; property development finance; equity capital markets; corporate advisory; and mergers and acquisitions.
Larry McGrath
Executive General Manager - Customer and Corporate Affairs
Larry McGrath is Executive General Manager, Customer and Corporate Affairs. He is responsible for ensuring we meet the needs of our customers and works to position the company for future growth opportunities.
Larry’s career has seen him work across the public and private sectors in transport and infrastructure, helping to deliver major projects and implement significant reform initiatives. Larry’s previous roles have included managing the transport division of a major infrastructure industry group, and working in senior roles in the New South Wales Government. As Chief of Staff to NSW Minister for Transport and then Treasurer, The Hon Gladys Berejiklian MP, Larry helped bring to market and deliver major PPP projects like the North West Rail Link and Sydney Light Rail, and was critically involved in transport planning and policy, operations, procurement, financing, budgeting, service delivery and communications.
Lindsay Albonico
Engineering, Technology & Innovation Executive General Manager
With almost 30 years’ in the construction industry, Lindsay brings significant project and management experience to our business.
Lindsay joined John Holland in 2011 as Manager - General Building. In this senior operational role, he provided strategic support to Project Managers and oversaw multiple building and upgrade projects throughout Western Australia.
Defining features of Lindsay’s leadership style include his ability to create high performing team and project cultures. He believes accountability, integrity and developing strong relationships with customers and other project stakeholders are critical to the successful delivery of projects.
