Sport, Tourism & Culture
We understand the specialised requirements of delivering significant social infrastructure projects, such as sporting stadiums, leisure facilities, hotels and galleries. We know what it takes for these projects to become valuable additions to a city’s cultural landscape.
The sophisticated arts and cultural venues we have delivered demonstrate our passion for leading-edge design and architecture. These include the State Theatre Centre of Western Australia and the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra.
Our nation’s passion for sport demands facilities designed to meet the specialised needs of elite athletes and their fans, delivering venues that integrate with their surroundings and local communities and provide the public with memorable experiences so they return time and time again. John Holland is behind some of the world’s eminent sports precincts. The Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre, Great Southern Stand of the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Energy Australia Stadium and the National Sports Centre, all demonstrate our breadth of capability in the delivery of large-scale sports facilities.
We have extensive experience in the delivery of luxury developments for the tourism sector, in particular the City of Dreams in Macau. This mega-project included deluxe high-rise hotel accommodation, serviced apartments and an underwater-themed casino. We were also responsible for the redevelopment of SKYCITY Darwin, with significant upgrade to gaming, accommodation and food and beverage facilities.
The many bespoke projects we deliver in this sector each present unique challenges which require significant expertise in design and construction to meet complex, exacting requirements. Our integrated building and operations solutions offer whole-of-life efficiencies to optimise productivity and facilities management over the life of the asset and deliver the ultimate, fit-for-purpose, facility.
