State Theatre Centre of Western Australia
The State Theatre Centre of Western Australia is a defining architectural feature in the heart of Northbridge providing a world-class contemporary performing arts destination for the Perth community.
Located in the revitalised cultural centre of Perth, the theatre centre features a 575-seat main theatre, a 200-seat underground studio theatre with associated rehearsal spaces and an outdoor space for multi-purpose use. Built on a small site footprint, the performance spaces were designed to be stacked on top of one another to maximise space.
The highly elaborate architectural design includes specialised theatre equipment, and unique architectural finishes. The new theatre centre also features award-winning acoustic treatments to ensure isolation of noise and vibrations from the surrounding road and rail areas from performance and rehearsal spaces inside the theatre.
